Res@t is an evidence-based training to strengthen skills that can help get a handle on problematic use of digital games, social media or streaming services.
It is aimed at children and young people between the ages of 10 and 19 and their parents.Res@t contains various training units that are activated weekly.
Each unit deals with a specific topic on how to use digital media.
Above all, it is about regaining control over media consumption.
At the beginning, the focus is on the emergence and maintenance of problematic media consumption.
Res@t then focuses on training various skills that can facilitate controlled use of digital media, such as: self-control, alternative activities, dealing with unpleasant feelings and relapse prevention.Parents of children or young people with problematic media consumption can also use Res@t.
You will receive training sessions that have been created specifically for the parent perspective.
These include topics such as: self-control from the parents perspective, dealing with rules and stress, and relapse prevention from the parents perspective.Res@t also includes a calendar function in which children, young people and parents can, among other things, enter their media usage times.
The app summarizes the information and provides individual feedback on trends and developments. With the help of various exercises, children, young people and parents learn how to deal constructively with negative thoughts and feelings. The further children, young people or parents progress in the training, the more suggestions and exercises are provided to promote controlled use of digital media.WHAT EVEN IS A MEDIA-RELATED DISORDER?• Control over how long and how often you play, stream or use social media is limited or non-existent.• Games, social media and/or streaming services come first.
